A dog on twice-daily medication is a hundred and forty doses a quarter, and every one of them depends on somebody remembering. TailDose keeps the schedule, tells you what's overdue, and lets whoever is actually home log it.
Why it exists
The dose you miss is the one nobody was sure about.
Most missed doses aren't forgetfulness. They're ambiguity — you got home late and can't remember whether your partner did it, the sitter didn't know there was an evening one, or the bottle ran out on a Sunday and the refill took three days.
TailDose is built around that specific failure: one shared, current answer to "has she had it?", visible to everyone who might need to give it.
What it does

A schedule that chases you, not the other way round
Set the medication once and TailDose builds the dose schedule from it. Overdue doses surface at the top in red with a single Log button, and the refill calculator warns you before the bottle runs out rather than the morning it does.

One page that answers every vet question
Each animal gets a profile holding the things you are always asked for and never have to hand: breed, age, whether they're neutered, current weight, every medication with its schedule, vaccination status, and every dose you have ever logged.
At the appointment that becomes a report you can hand over, instead of trying to remember when the limp started.

A report the vet can actually read
Pick a date range and TailDose builds a health report as a real document: the animal's details, adherence, doses given, current weight and next vaccination across the top, then vaccinations, then every medication with its full dose log — what was scheduled, when it was actually given, and who gave it.
It answers the question a vet always asks and owners can rarely evidence: has he been having it, and on time? Adherence on the report below reads 100% across 60 of 60 doses, which is a far better answer than "I think so."

Hand the evening dose to someone else
Invite a partner, a family member or a sitter and they see the same schedule you do. When they log the evening dose, it's logged for everyone — no group chat, no note on the counter, no double dosing because two people both thought they were covering it.
It also survives contact with the vet: the report above records who gave each dose, so a month covered by two people reads as one continuous history rather than two half-stories.
Sharing is the one part of TailDose that involves our server, because two phones have to agree on what happened. It only applies to pets you deliberately share, and only after both people sign in with Apple. Documents you've attached to a pet are excluded by design — they stay on your device and in your own iCloud, and a caregiver never receives them.

Pro is $4.99 a month or $29.99 a year if you prefer, but the $59.99 lifetime unlock is there so you never have to think about it again. Trial length, where one is offered, is shown on the purchase screen in the app.
Built into the phone
Log a dose without unlocking anything.
A Lock Screen widget shows what is still due. The Apple Watch app and its complication put the same thing on your wrist, and a Shortcuts action means you can tell Siri the dose is done while you are still holding the bottle.
The reports are the part people end up relying on: a vet-ready PDF with the pet's profile, weight trend, vaccination status and per-medication adherence, plus a CSV if you would rather have it in a spreadsheet. Pets you keep to yourself sync through your own iCloud; shared pets sync through our server so every caregiver's phone agrees on what happened.
TailDose records what you tell it and reminds you — it is not veterinary advice and it does not check for drug interactions. Dosing decisions belong to your vet. The privacy policy sets out exactly what sharing involves.
